Always be calm and positive when around your child, and if you do not feel this way, remove yourself from the room until you do!

The outcome is much more positive with a positive attitude and outlook from both parents and patient.

It is important to have a strong support system in place with family, friends, and your medical team.

This will be a trying period in live, but a manageable one with proper planning and emotional support in place.

Depression may occur during this time. It may be mild, but in some cases, symptoms may fell overwhelming. If depression is detected, contact your doctor immediately.

Some patients feel socially isolated as well as experiencing eating and sleeping disturbances.

Increase social interactions at points like this. Have friends or family around to combat the isolation, and increase the joy of mealtime.
