There are many things you can do to prepare your home for your halo patient.
Take a survey throughout your home to identify obstacles that could be safety concerns such as:
- Scatter Rugs
- Furniture
- Electrical Cords
- Telephone Cords

Objects, sports equipment or toys that require a lot of movement should be put away, so your patient is not tempted to play with them.

Some families like to use a hospital bed for their patient. It depends on the geography of your home. This can be discussed prior to halo placement.

If you can, prepare a room with a television placed properly for the halo patient. They will no longer have the ability to sit low and to look up.
Your room should have the furniture positioned so that the patient can view the television straight ahead of them without having to look up or turn their head.

Keep your large family pet who might have the potential to jump up on your patient in another room, or in an enclosed area away from the patient.
