”When Should You Consider Spine Surgery”
Information and video with
A.J. Khanna, M.D.
We’d like to introduce you to our newest orthopaedic surgeon, Daniel J. Valaik, M.D.
Dr. Valaik and his physician assistant, Kevin Woodward join us from Johns Hopkins Orthopaedic and Spine Surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore. Dr. Valaik specializes in hip and knee joint replacement surgery, augmenting the joint replacement surgery practice of Dr. William Sadlack.
Our spine surgeon is Dr. A. Jay Khanna.
Our practice, seeks to provide patients with the best operative and non-operative care for their musculoskeletal and spinal conditions.
We also pride ourselves in maximizing the
non-operative treatment options for all patients before considering or suggesting the surgical options.
We work closely with physical therapists, physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists and interventional pain management specialists to ensure that our patients have the best chance at recovering from a spinal or other musculoskeletal condition before surgery is considered.
We also frequently refer patients to neurologists, physiatrists, rheumatologists and other specialists to gain their perspective and to provide patients with a multidisciplinary approach to a musculoskeletal condition.
For patients who have exhausted all other options and are found to be candidates for joint replacement or spine surgery, our physicians utilize their experience along with the latest technologies to provide our patients with the best surgical care possible.
Minimally invasive and image-guided techniques are used, when possible, to avoid collateral tissue damage, improve recovery times and avoid complications while maintaining the effectiveness of the surgical techniques that have been developed over the years.
