Dr. Dawn LaPorte is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery. A graduate of MIT, she completed Orthopaedic Surgery training at Johns Hopkins and received her hand and upper extremity surgery fellowship training at the Curtis National Hand Center.
She has a specialty focus in the wrist including ligament injuries, avascular necrosis, and arthritis. Dr. LaPorte is able to provide multi-disciplinary care for these problems through relationships with the Johns Hopkins, Bayview, and Good Samaritan Hospital rheumatology divisions. She also treats conditions including nerve compression syndromes, Dupytren’s contracture, and congenital hand differences.
Dr. LaPorte is a member of the American Society of Surgery for the Hand (ASSH) and serves on multiple ASSH committees, including the Diversity Committee and the Resident Education Committee. She is also the Residency Program Director for the Johns Hopkins Orthopaedic Surgery training program and serves on the Governing Council of the national Council of Orthopaedic Residency Directors.
Dr. LaPorte sees patients at multiple locations, including the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center and Johns Hopkins at Greenspring Station.
